226. گزینۀ 3  کاربرد will به ‌همراه زمان‌های گذشته نادرست است. در نتیجه، در گزینۀ ٣، به‌ همراه فعل گذشته seemed بجای will بایستی از would استفاده شود (بخش ١٠ Fast Grammar).

227. گزینۀ ۱ بعد از افعال ربطی (اینجا is) بایستی از صفت استفاده شود، نه قید. بنابراین، بکار بردن قید extraordinarily بعد از is نادرست بوده و بجای آن بایستی از صفت extraordinary استفاده شود (بخش ٨).

البته گزینۀ ۴ هم صحیح نیست؛ زیرا برای اشاره به زمان بایستی از when استفاده شود، نه where.

ترجمه: «زمانی است که افراد جوان بایستی بسیار بی‌باک باشند.» (بخش ۴).

228. گزینۀ ۴ در گزینه ۴، کاربرد ربط‌ دهنده قیدی بیان مغایرت whereas نادرست است. در جمله به مفهوم زمان و ربط‌ دهنده when نیاز داریم:

ترجمه: «در زمان غذا خوردن، تجزیه‌کنندگان [از طریق بازدم] دی اکسید کربن را به هوا باز می‌گردانند.»

229. گزینۀ ۲ در گزینه ٢، اصطلاح in fewer than نادرست است؛ بـرای اشاره به زمان بایـستی از اصطلاح in less than «در کمتر از» استفاده شود.

230. گزینۀ ۲ در گزینه ٢، بجای ever developing بایستی از ever developed استفاده شود (مبحث زمان‌ها).

231. گزینۀ ۳  در گزینه ٣ به یک ساختار تفضیلی مضاعف نیاز داریم. در چنین ساختارهایی بایستی در دو طرف جمله از یک صفت تفضیلی استفاده شود. در نتیجه، بجای the intense بایستی ازthe more intense the light is استفاده شود.

232. گزینۀ ۴  پاسخ گزینۀ ۴ است. در صورتیکه فاعل یک جمله (اینجا plants) انجام‌دهندۀ عمل فعل نباشد، با یک ساختار مجهولی مواجه خواهیم بود و بایستی از الگوی جملات مجهولی استفاده کنیم (بخش ۱۱)

وجه اشتراک همۀ جملات مجهولی:

قسمت سوم فعل (.p.p) + شکلی از فعل to be + نهاد

در نتیجه، قبل از discovered بایستی از been استفاده شود:

… have not even been discovered yet.

233. گزینۀ ۱ در گزینۀ ١، a tree فاعل مفرد است، ولی ضمیر مفعولی them جمع است و با مرجع مفرد خود (a tree) مطابقت ندارد (بخش ١٢ Fast Grammar).

234. گزینۀ ۳ در گزینۀ ٣، بجای do بایستی از اسـم مصـدر doing در نقش فاعلی استفاده شود (بخش ۴).

235. گزینۀ ۲  در صورتیکه از کلمات پرسشی (اینجا where) برای ارتباط دو جمله‌واره استفاده شود، بعد از آنها بایستی از ترتیب جملات مثبت استفاده شود. یعنی، نیازی به جابجایی فاعل و فعل کمکی نیست. همچنین، در این حالت، دیگر نیازی به استفاده از اشکال مختلف فعل کمکی do نیست. در نتیجه، در گزینۀ ٣ بایستی does از جمـله حذف و فعل come به comes تبـدیل شـود ?where she comes from … (بخش ۵).
