حروف ربط – مجموعه آموزش گرامر انگلیسی به زبان ساده

فست زبان: در قسمت پنجم از مجموعه آموزش گرامر انگلیسی به زبان ساده، قصد داریم شما را با مبحث حرف ربط در زبان انگلیسی آشنا کنیم و هر آنچه که برای یادگیری این مبحث نیاز دارید را به شما آموزش دهیم.

یکی دیگر از اجزای جمله (Parts of Speech) در زبان انگلیسی حروف ربط یا Conjunction هست که در این درس آن را همراه مثال یاد خواهیم گرفت.

تعریف

در ساده ترین تعریف می توانیم بگوییم: هرگاه بخواهیم دو یا چند کلمه یا عبارت یا جمله واره را در انگلیسی به هم متصل کنیم از حروف ربط استفاده می کنیم. در واقع کاربرد حروف ربط جلوگیری از تکرار فعل و پیچیده‌تر کردن جملات است. به مثال زیر توجه کنید:

The girl is pretty. The girl is kind. She has blonde hair. She has green eyes. She is wearing a blue jacket. She is wearing a white t-shirt.

در این جمله ما از حروف ربط استفاده نکردیم. اما اکنون با استفاده از حروف ربط آن را دوباره بیان می کنیم:

The girl is pretty and kind. She has blonde hair with green eyes and she is wearing a blue jacket on top of a white t-shirt.

توجه: در زمان استفاده از حروف ربط باید دقت کنید دو کلمه یا عبارتی که بهم ربط داده می شوند از نظر نقش دستوری یکسان باشند. مثال:

He runs quickly and gracefully

He runs quickly and graceful.

در جمله اول هر دو کلمه قید هستند و بدرستی استفاده شده‌اند اما در جمله دوم خیر.

مثال‌هایی دیگر از کاربرد حروف ربط

The park is empty now, but it will be filled with children after school.
You can stay on the bus until you reach London.

ما ۳ نوع حروف ربط داریم:

حروف ربط همپایه ساز: Coordinating Conjunctions
حروف ربط دوتایی یا هم‌آیند: Correlative Conjunctions
حروف ربط واسته‌ساز: Subordinating Conjunctions

حروف ربط همپایه ساز

از این نوع حروف ربط برای اتصال دو یا چند کلمه، عبارت یا جمله واره که از نظر گرامری در یک رده و مرتبه هستند، استفاده می شود.

حروف ربط همپایه ساز
We listened eagerly, for he brought news of our families.	for
She didn’t speak to anyone, and nobody spoke to her.	not
I don’t expect children to be rude, nor do I expect to be disobeyed.	and
They rushed to the hospital, but they were too late.	but
I will go shopping, or I will go camping.	yet
Kelly was a convicted criminal, yet many people admired him.	so
I was feeling hungry, so I made myself a sandwich.	nor

نکته 1: برای یادآوری حروف ربط همپایه ساز می توانید کلمه fanboys را که مخفف حروف ابتدایی آنها می باشد، بخاطر بسپارید.

نکته 2: زمانیکه از حروف ربط همپایه ساز برای اتصال دو جمله یا عبارت مستقل استفاده می شود، باید قبل از آن کاما بیاوریم.

نکته 3: زمانیکه این حروف ربط بین بیش از دو کلمه یا عبارت ارتباط برقرار می کند بعد از اولین کلمه یا عبارتی که به حالت سریالی دنبال هم می آیند و به هم مرتبط هستند ویرگول قرار می گیرد و این عمل ویرگول گذاری تا قبل از آخرین کلمه یا عبارت ادامه پیدا می کند و بعد از آن یکی از حروف ربطی همپایه می آید.

حروف ربط دوتایی یا هم‌آیند

حروف ربط دوتایی یا هم‌آیند نوعی از حروف ربطی هستند که جفت می آیند و عبارت بعد هر کدام از این جفت ها باید یکسان باشد. کاری که این حروف ربطی می کنند این است که با هم کار می کنند (co) و دو قسمت جمله را به هم وصل می کنند ( relative).

حروف ربط دوتایی یا هم‌آیند
The company deals in both hardware and software.	Both / And
I will eat either carrots or peas for dinner.	Either / Or
Natalie, likes neither milk nor cream cake.	Neither / Nor
Do you care whether we have noodles or rice for dinner.	Whether / Or
He not only studies hard but also works well.	Not only / But (also)
It’s such a tiny kitchen that I don’t have to do much to keep it clean.	Such / That
Scarcely had she entered the room when the phone rang.	Scarcely / When
No sooner did he enter the room than he saw a snake.	No sooner / Than

نکته: حروف‌ ربط دوتایی کنار هم استفاده نمی‌شوند و مکان آنها در جمله متفاوت است.

حروف ربط وابسته‌ساز

حروف ربط وابسته همواره یک جمله واره وابسته را معرفی می‌کنند و آن را به جمله واره مستقل متصل می‌کنند. برخلاف حروف‌ ربط هم پایه، از حروف ربط وابسته می‌توان در ابتدای جمله استفاده کرد.

حروف ربط وابسته ساز کاربردهای متفاوتی دارند که در تصویر زیر می توانید این موارد را مشاهده نمایید.
